Sushi and martinis are extremely popular in Moscow. Of course, there are restaurants offering just about every cuisine of the world here, but currently, especially among the young professionals, it’s sushi that is the default. Sushi is so ubiquitous that a Russian friend asserted that it can now be considered Russian cuisine.

Yet another American in Moscow sharing his experiences for your amusement. I first came here to study at Moscow State University during the 2005-2006 academic year under a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship. I began the blog as a way to report back to my sponsor club in Seattle about my activities during the scholarship. I am now writing about my perspective as a foreigner that has been living and working in the country for nearly five years.
